How do I protect my games so that they cannot be edited on the calculator?
Have you ever had a game on your calculator and wanted to change the name of the author to yours, but couldn't? Well the author of the game was smart enough to protect his/her game just so you couldn't do that. Protecting programs prevents your programs from being edited on the calculator. A protected program won't be listed in the Edit Programs menu on your calculator. Want to know how this is done? Well, it's surprisingly simple. However, in order to do this, you'll need the TI-Graph Link software. First, open the calculator program file (*.83p or *.8xp) that you want to protect. At the bottom of the program's window, there's a checkbox followed by "Protected." Click the chechbox and your program will now be protected when it's sent to your calculator. If you have the TI-Graph Link software for the TI-83, it might be difficult to see that checkbox and "Protected." If this is the case, click on the dark colored bar at the top of the program's window and move the window up until you see "Protected" at the bottom of the window.
