Can TI-83 BASIC programs work on the TI-83 Plus and vice versa?
Pretty much every TI-83 BASIC program will run on the TI-83 Plus without any modifications of the code. This is because the TI-83 Plus is an upgrade of the TI-83 so it has all the capabilities of the TI-83 plus more. Most TI-83 Plus BASIC programs will work on the TI-83 without any modifications as long as you don't use TI-83 Plus-specific commands like Archive/Unarchive. Because of this ability for the both calculators to run each other's programs, many TI-83 programmers also program for the TI-83 Plus, and vice versa.

However, TI-83 Assembly programs will not work on a TI-83 Plus, and TI-83 Plus Assembly programs will not work on a TI-83 either. If you find a TI-83 Assembly game that you really like, but have a TI-83 Plus, you'll just have to find the TI-83 Plus version of it in order to get it onto your calculator.
